Jaroslava Ovesná, PhD from the Crop Research Institute, Department of Molecular biology, Division of  Genetics in Czech Republic graduated at Charles University in Prague, PhD in  plant production. Employed in Crop research institute sice 1984, dealing with plant tissue culture, plant transformation, product quality and marker assisted selection, food/feed safety, GMO issue, department head (Department of Molecular biology), National reference laboratory for GMO identification and DNA fingerprinting nominated according to Regulation 882/2004 and 1829/2003 operate accredited according ISO 17025:2005.

She is author of over 70 scientific publications, coordinator of research projects, supervisor of diploma and PhD students. Furthermore Jaroslava Ovesna is chairperson of the Scientific Committee for GM food and feed at the Czech Ministry of Agriculture, member of GM commission focus on co-existence of the Czech Ministry of Agriculture, expert of the Ministry of the Environment. Expert of EFSA (European Food Safety Authority)
